This drum was given to the OTSS Baking Program as a Thank you for the cookies that OTSS made for the First Nations Child and Caring Society of Canada on "Have a Heart Day", February 14th, Valentine's Day. The Cookies were given to First Nation's youth on Parliament Hill.
The drum was handmade by a girl from British Columbia and it is a woman's drum.

Dear Parents & Guardians of Graduating Students,
Your son or daughter will soon be graduating from high school. This occasion will provide a sense of pride and achievement as well as a time for celebration, and we are happy to celebrate formally with you at the school-sanctioned commencement in our auditorium at 1:00pm on June 28th. There are, however, a number of other activities associated with graduation, such as a graduation dinner-dance, that are not sanctioned by the OCDSB nor the school, but are sometimes organized and managed by students at the school (Read more...). |

Parents/Guardians, are you concerned your child is spending too much time with video games, texting, facebook and other social media? Matt Young, our Rideauwood Addictions Counsellor will be leading a 6 week group (starting May 17th) to support and explain social media addiction concerns to interested students.
